I’ve slowly been getting my friend into metal and she was like “oh there is metal show I saw that is happening in a few weeks. We should go together :)” so I was like oh cool okay (I’m always down to go to any concert) but then had to be like nope pump the breaks.

They are playing at the junkiest and most notoriously rowdy venue in the entire surrounding 2 hour radius. I had to be like “Bud no. You will get eaten alive. That is where dickheads go to see music, like you do not know the amount of trauma patients I have seen waltz up from that venue. There is something about that venue that’s makes people go wild, like bands having to stop mid song to be like wtf y’all, wild. I love you, and respectfully I do not think you could hang. If anybody comes literally anywhere else then for sure let’s go, but I don’t even like seeing the chillest bands around there.” However somewhere in the back of my head I’m like hmmm it would be wild but it also would be wicked fun so we still might go ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thinking about how Lincoln Broadsheet said he worked in the newspaper industry for 25 years, and this game takes place in 2004 so he's worked since 1979. Idk how old he is, he looks 34 to me at the least.

Thoughts on Astarion's romance (again)

Honestly, the way my romance is playing out is pretty cool from a RP perspective, as it really shows that he's lying through his pretty teeth at the start of the romance.

We did the "defend the grove"-thing pretty early, so I never had a chance to be kind to Astarion before the party in camp. In addition, my approval with him was probably on the lower end of neutral. Whenever I tried to talk to him, he always responded with

"Ugh, you're staring at me again" and

"What do you want?",

like a really annoyed coworker. (I probably sound like that a lot, ngl.) He didn't hate me, but yeah, he was clearly annoyed.

At the party, I asked him what his definition of fun is (I just really wanted to know, not trying to flirt) and his answer boils down to "sex, but not with you, ewww" and that's that.

Sometime afterwards, the whole "let him feed" thing triggered, and I did some nice things for him (Gandrel and giving him the creepy book).

And then the romance part started and suddenly he's like "I always had my eyes on you" - Astarion, I annoyed the fuck out of you. You didn't even try at the party, you clearly said "eww not you" and now you're pretending that you've been into me from the very start? I'll say it again, you're a bad liar and I can't wait for you to catch all these feelings you don't want.

Lucky for him, I'm playing a cleric, not a nun. And this cleric probably relates to him in weird ways thanks to her dark urge.

Last show: Shadow and Bone. Finished watching the second season two days ago and I have OPINIONS (that will probably be put into a WIP and then abandoned like all my other fic ideas lol)

Currently watching: I am usually very very bad at watching stuff, but I'm currently watching the Swedish version of the Great Celebrity Bake-Off. Also thinking of re-watching Black Sails again but that would require spare time/energy that I don't currently have. However, the, in my opinion, most charming Swedish tv-tradition ever starts again next week so I will be watching that. It's a live stream from a bunch of cameras set up to film the migration of moose across Ångermanälven (if you don't speak Swedish, älv=river). It's marketed as "slow-tv" - which basically means that you mostly get to see trees, water, and some birds. And reindeer. Lots and lots of reindeer. It's also not that far from where I grew up so it cures some of the homesickness 🥰

Currently reading: all the books lol. Dolda Gudar by Nils Håkanson, Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad (for uni), The Odyssey by Homer (Emily Wilson's translation), and Regarde les lumières mon amour by Annie Ernaux. Also re-reading Language and Minority Rights by Stephen May but as that's technically for an essay I'm writing I'm not sure it counts.

Current obsession: sleeping lol. It's full-blown pollen season where I live so I'm just sleeping all the time - whether I want to or not 🫠

And plants! But that's not current, it's just ongoing since forever. I have somewhere around 40 plants + a small window-garden taking up all available surfaces in my apartment - including parts of the floor 🤷‍♀️

I don't know who on here is following the Justin Baldoni vs Blake Lively lawsuit drama (I know, caring about celebrity gossip is so shallow. Maybe 😅) but I'm reading one of the documents that was posted on the evidence website that went up today, and while I'm 100% team Baldoni after seeing what both sides are putting out, I also feel a lot of... I don't know if it's sympathy or empathy, or just deep compassion towards Lively. I feel like sad for her, because I get this vibe that she is an intensely insecure person, and this mean girl "look at me, I have so many expensive things on me, I am so rich and powerful" attitude is like a front for that deep-rooted insecurity this woman has.

And I'd even go as far as assuming her husband is controlling and emotionally/psychologically abusive, and she hasn't realized this yet. Of course, these are just bold assumptions from me, a person far, far removed from their lived experiences. But yes, I just get this vibe from that relationship. I know Ryan Reynolds (her husband) has constantly made mean jokes at her expense, and also there's the fact that Blake Lively hasn't been much active in her career since she married him and has been constantly pregnant (even when she should have been preparing for this "It ends with us" film, she was pregnant and gave birth around the time she had to start filming, so it just feels like this man keeps getting her pregnant so he can keep her controlled, you know? I know some men do that, keeping his wife pregnant and giving birth so she has no choice but to halt her career endeavors while she is giving birth, recovering, taking care of a baby and toddlers, etc. His exes have talked about it before, about him being controlling and insecure about them having a bigger career/greater success than him. He wants his wife to be beneath him, is what I mean. And I can see that confirmed in how his relationship with Blake Lively has evolved over the years. Like he has her under his thumb, popping up kids and more and more removed from her career.

I don't know. I just feel compassion for this woman, regardless of her mean attitude and her lies and accusations that, to me, based on what I've seen from both sides, are being made to ruin Baldoni's reputation and get Colleen Hoover's rights to her book back from him, so Lively and her husband can produce the next movie themselves. The whole complaint on her part feels fabricated and in bad faith, but there's a lot in it that feels like it comes from misunderstandings on her part due to her deep insecurities about her body image and her person. Anyway, I'll shut up here. It wasn't my intention to make a whole post about this, but I was just reading through some of the text messages, and I got this vibe and I felt like writing about it.
